Eleven years ago, we took this picture together, just you and me. This summer was the first that we spent at the cabin without you. The greatest moment of my life was when you told me you were so proud of me. People tell me how much alike we are, and that’s by far the greatest compliment anyone could ever pay me. If I grow up to be half the person you are, that will be my greatest achievement in life and that alone will make me so happy. Watching you get sicker and sicker over the last 2 years has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I love you Dad.
